NASBLA receives grant funding from the U.S. Coast Guard for tuition-free Boating Incident Investigation (BII) courses each year. Once these grants are received the boating law administrators from each state can offer to host a course in their state. The Level I Comprehensive courses are normally delivered in the spring of each year before the busy boating season commences. The Advanced BII Level II course is held in Havana, Florida where our crashed boats used in the courses are housed, usually later in the year.

NASBLA can deliver a tuition-based, Level I Comprehensive course in your area. We do have a 15-student minimum class size. If your agency has less than 15 students needing to attend the course, we can advertise the course to your neighboring agencies to reach the class minimum of 15 students. Tuition for these classes is normally $1100 - $1200 per student. If you think this would be an option for your agency please contact Courtney Livingston, BOAT Program Director at courtney.livingston@nasbla.org.
