Vessels Requiring Titling
All motorized vessels operating on Florida’s public waterways must be titled and registered. Required Ownership Documentation: • New Vessels: Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) or equivalent statement of builder. If purchased from a non-titling state without an MCO, an executed dealer’s bill of sale is required. The proof of ownership must include a complete description of the vessel (manufacturer name, year, type, hull material, propulsion, fuel, use, HIN, and length). • Used Vessels (Titled in FL): Florida title accurately completed for transfer to the purchaser. • Used Vessels (Titled Out-of-State): Out-of-state title accurately completed for transfer to the purchaser. • Used Vessels (From Non-Titling State): Current registration card from that state and a bill of sale from the current registrant. The bill of sale must include a complete description of the vessel (manufacturer name, year, type, hull material, propulsion, fuel, use, HIN, and length).
