In August 2014, the Coast Guard published a final rule on Vessel Documentation Renewal Fees, revising 46 CFR part 67 and setting out fees for services provided. In the process, it received many comments suggesting institution of a multiyear renewal option program. No changes were made to the rule at the time; but in a Request for Comments issued March 3, 2015, the Coast Guard sought further input on options for implementing multiyear renewals and updating the fee for services, as well as information on factors to consider in implementing such changes. The deadline for comments was June 1, 2015.
