On Dec. 1, 2025, the Coast Guard published a 60-day Federal Register Notice stating its intent to submit an Information Collection Request (ICR) to the Office of Management & Budget (OMB) for an extension of approval of 1625-0003, Coast Guard Boating Accident Report Form, without change. The deadline for public comment to Docket USCG-2025-0351 at www.regulations.gov was Jan. 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
The current CG-3865 form is dated Aug. 1, 2024, expiring Feb. 21, 2028; however, it was revised in March 2025 to accommodate an Executive Order and resulting in a change of references from “gender” to “sex.”
