Exploring the Coast Guard’s National Recreational Boating Safety Surveys (NRBSS)

On Tuesday, May 10 at 11:00 AM (EDT), with a repeat on Thursday, May 12 at 3:00 PM (EDT), a team of State and U.S. Coast Guard members of NASBLA’s Engineering, Reporting & Analysis Committee (ERAC) will host hour-long webinars on the National Recreational Boating Safety Surveys (NRBSS). Jonathan Hsieh (CG-BSX), Tammy Terry (Ohio), and Joanna Andrade (California) will cover the purposes of the 2018 NRBSS Participation and Exposure Surveys and how they were done; share interesting findings from this last round and the benefits of understanding and using the results; and, through real-time Q&A, find out whether and how State agencies and other organizations may already be applying the data and get feedback on topics and questions that might make future surveys even more useful.

If there’s enough interest, ERAC will conduct another round of webinars for a deeper dive into the surveys. All webinars will be recorded and made available in NASBLA’s eLearning Center.

Registration is now open for the webinars on May 10th and 12th. You can register for one webinar or both. The information presented will be the same in each webinar. After registering, you will get a confirmation with information about joining the webinar(s), along with links to the NRBSS reports and a very brief survey to gauge your familiarity with the reports and your areas of interest.
